Adding to the list

Hello there

From time to time I am receiving some emails from Chinese friends. I find new worlds there I'd like to learn, so I've created some cool private vocab list, called "MyScratchPad" to add the new words and characters to be learned.

I've added 4 first words and learned them, so that the list was moved to "finished" section. Now I've added a few more words to it, since I've got more mails from the friends with unknown characters.

Surprise! The list status is still "finished". It is kinda unintuitive since it's "finished" (not "stopped"/"paused") and it has new words that are unknown to me and do not appear in any other list.

IMO we have some inconsistent situation here: if the list is final once saved, why can I add words to it. If I can add words to it - why it remains in the "finished" status and can't be re-learned? I have a screenshot that demonstrates the issue, just ask :)

Yes, I have the same issue! The list says it's finished, which is was at one point, but since then I have added words to it and they are not getting studied. Pretty annoying; I guess I'll just have to move them to a new list.

You just have to restart that list.

Actually, right now I'm working on making lists act the way you want them to, where if you add words to a finished list, those words will be added. It was simpler to make the lists the way they work now, but it causes lots of confusion like this. I'm hoping I'll be done within a month or two, but we'll see!

Ok, cool. At least I know it's not just me. Keep up the good work!

Keep it up, folks :)
And thanks again.

Scott, many thanks for addressing this - I had been wondering about it for a little while since I had this same question. On a closely related note: if I finish one section in a list that contains multiple sections, the status seems to indicate that the entire list is completed, even if there are other sections that have not been finished. It's not a major issue, but if the status could reflect which part is completed (either the section, the list without sections, or the list with multiple sections if it is entirely done), it would be useful. Thanks again, and please let me know if my note isn't clear!

Hmm, could you go into more detail? I looked at the lists you're studying on your account and, for example, on your study page it lists the two you've finished with full bars as completed and the three you haven't at the top with partially full bars, which seems correct. Or where do you see this status? And currently for which list?
