Does Skritter, like a lot of other programs, read what input method we're using and adjust accordingly?

I was trying to see if the tone colors for writing thing would occur for me, since I don't use them - a lot of the responses to that thread seemed to be from people who weren't familiar with the tone colors, so I wondered if it was turned on for everybody, which I don't think I would like. I did this with my mouse since I'm at work and didn't want to bother plugging in my Wacom at the moment.

However, after a couple writing + tone prompts, I ran into a block of 30+ definitions uninterrupted by writing or tone prompts. Is this based on my mouse usage during this session (for whatever reason it would want to do so on mouse), or has type grouping been ramped up entirely, or was it just a freak incident?

Nope; Skritter can't easily tell what you're using to write, unless you have the pressure sensitivity working.

Did you have more reviews due than you normally do? The grouping typically works better when there are a bunch of reviews to do.

Note that the grouping isn't intended to separate tone prompts from reading and definition, just to keep writing and reading from clashing--the other two types are thrown in wherever.

I have seen this a few times as well, but I only use the Wacom or my tablet PC, so I don't think is related to the input method.
I find it much easier to work on a set of definitions and then switch to writing and tone work, so this way works for me, whether deliberate or not.

Okay, so it was just a freak incident? Bizarre. I don't think I've ever seen more than about a dozen of any type of review come up in a row, but this was a total of 32 consecutive definition prompts (thanks to the new My Words page for the ability to check that up easily), with about 160 reviews queued up total. I don't think I was even getting that kind of grouping when I was working off 2500 reviews after a lazy/busy summer. There's nothing wrong with it, it's just kinda weird that it happened. Like rolling a three sided die a couple dozen times and getting the same result every time...
