So with everything looking pretty great on the new list stuff, the only small fly remaining is the lots of separate small daily sections that new lists end up with using the automatic adding.

Am I missing some (easy) way of merging sections together? I tried just renaming them to have the same name, but they stay separate.

For my usage pattern, I suspect I'd be much happier with the quick adding going into monthly sections, and just an separate 'start new section' option.

I also find lists split into one section per day makes them excessively fragmented. It makes it hard to see quickly what is in the list (and how much I have already done).

The idea behind having separate sections is that it's nice to know what day in particular you added a certain word, and it shows up during study, though with changes to lists being recorded you've got that option too if you really want to know. Anyone else find the large number of sections too much? We'll discuss alternatives tonight at the meeting.

I think I'd be pretty happy just with an easy way of merging sections. Then I could select all the aug ones and just mash them together quickly.

But an option to use day/week/month names for quick-added stuff to suit individual's differnt usage might be nice instead.

Or for ultimate magic, perhaps think in terms of an optimal size for sections - eg decide it should be between 10 and 50 say. Then the quick-add would notice that all the sections in this week added up to less than 50 words, and group merge together automatically? But if a single day had more than 10, leave it separate somehow.

Yes please! make monthly lists the default, with the option of starting a new list every day. Who does that, anyway?

I think Scott has implemented this change, to monthly sections.

Yes, it should only automatically create new sections once a new month has arrived.
