Making custom lists

ac8   March 3rd, 2015 9:14p.m.

I recently stated using Skritter, and I have tried to make a custom list using words from certain lessons of a book, but the words never load into a list. It says loading but never stops and last longer than I am willing to wait. (I've waited up to 5 minutes before) I was thinking maybe that was a feature that would actually work if I bought a subscription. If it isn't than I think it should be fixed soon. Anyone else having trouble with making their own lists?

@ac8 I just sent you a private message. Hopefully we can get this issue resolved for you ASAP.

Until you get your official answer, perhaps this can help. With my students, we find it easier to create all our lists from a desktop computer first.

We go to vocabulary, create a custom list, name it, then add the first word from our lesson. That creates a list. Then we go into our book, click on the lesson, and import the rest of the words from the lesson into our new list.

It takes a few steps, but is pretty fast. Then they can load their lists from IOS, Android, or computer at home.

Sorry everyone, I sent a PM because the Skritter forum is not the best place to diagnose and resolve issues that users might be having. I suspected that the events taking place were isolated to ac8's account and sent a PM.

I don't see a reply in my inbox so I apologize for not following up on this forum post.

@ac8, I noticed that your subscription in inactive, but that shouldn't prevent you from making a new study list (just studying words from it). As TecherChen recommend, you might want to try making a list on the website and see if it shows up in the iOS application.

Alternatively, you could try clearing local data on iOS and resyncing your account. Do this by going to Settings > Account > Clear Local Data

Hopefully those help you to create a custom list! Again, I should note that you wont be able to study words from those lists unless you have an active account.

Best,
Jake
