"Save Me" Help?

bwolfe   April 25th, 2011 7:45p.m.

Hi everyone,
To try and make my "known kanji" count more accurate, I've been powering through the JLPT4 list lately, all of which I already know. However, it's trying to make me review 800 words which I already have known for several years. I would just use the "save me" button to fix this, but I want it to do that for ONLY the JLPT4 list, but not touch the other lists. Is there any way I can do this?

I don't think "Save Me" is what you want. That will just spread your reviews out over a longer period, not mark anything as known. What you should probably do is just hit "4" when you see one you know cold. That will mark it too easy and you won't have to review it again for a long time.

What Nicki said! Also, if you are yet to study part of the list, you can always skip the part you know, and start adding from a later point. Ignore this if you've already added the words though.

It might be a little tedious at first, but grading the things you already know well as "easy" will quickly push them into the future rarely to be seen again. I think it'll be good to quickly go through everything you already know just in case you catch a few that have slipped your mind.

Or you could hack it. "Save Me" only affects words that are due. Study the other two lists you're working on individually (click the "Study a Single Vocab List" button then choose the list) then use "Save Me" on the remaining words in your review queue, ie JLPT 4. Send them far into the future that way.
