Forum Improvements

Hi, it would be great if the threads were not sorted by the the date of creation, but by the date of their last entries. Additionally it would be great to have more than one forum, so that the threads would be sorted by topic. Just two suggestions, because I have great difficulties finding any old threads, since I usually don't remeber which catch phrase to use for the search.

If you click 'Created' on the main forum page, it will then shift to displaying by the date of the last entries. Probably should be default...

The theory behind having created be the sorting by default is it encourages discussion in newer threads, rather than having old threads go on forever. We could probably make it more obvious you can switch it though...

As for subforums, we actually just had a discussion on that:

The conclusion was no subforums, keep it simple like it is. As we continue to grow though, we might want to reevaluate again later.

Thanks very much. As scott pointed out, 'created' is default ;-). Yes, would be great to get a hint about the way to change that.

I wrote a replay about the subforums in the mentioned thread.

@nick one possible way to avoid subforums would be to allow people to tag posts and/or discussions, then show a tag cloud. That would push the responsibility for defining the subjects of the subforums off to the users.
