Feature suggestion for My Word list

Roland   May 1st, 2011 12:22a.m.

It seems, that quite some people have the problem, that for what so ever reason, some vocabs are marked for partial study only. When looking at my statistics, I assume, that I have the same problem, as the numbers for reading-writing-definition-tone have quite a gap. When looking at some vocab lists, I also found some vocab, which are marked for partial learning only. However, I neither want to go through 8000 items nor export and re-import all the items.
Therefore, would it be possible, to have a second view for the My Word list? Instead of showing last and next, can it display the 4 study modes in the same way, as it is done normally on the vocab lists. If it is sorted in sequence 1 study mode, 2, 3 and all, than one could quickly manually go through and correct the setting for these words.

I think the upgrades for the lists we have in mind will help rectify this situation. The setup you describe would not be possible the way we organize the information, and would work with Chinese, not Japanese where it's normal to only study one, two or three parts for a vocab even if you're studying all three (depending on if it's an out of context character, if it has any kanji at all). But with the new list system, it will better handle changing parts and style settings, encouraging people who change those to reset their lists so they can be gone through again to make sure nothing is missing. And with the queue acting as a list like any other, no words will be missed.

Scott, thanks, looking forward to the new list system.
