Study section

Hi, could anyone please explain what 'study section' is for and how to use it? Do the words I study this way get added to my list of words permanently?

thanks, Jo

I would generally advise you not to use it unless you're sure of what you're doing.

If you're sure of what you're doing, you can study a single section and you will only be shown items in that particular section. Items studied get tracked just as if they had been added normally. If you come back another day and study everything, those items will also be reviewed.

One of the good reasons to use it would be to cram for a specific test. Another is to add a bunch of new items all at once (although you can also do this with the "add" button). For example, once in a while I'll finish my items due and I'll want to add a whole bunch of new things from a list, so I'll study the specific section for a while and then go back to studying everything.

OK, thanks James. Unfortunately I tried it before asking the question rather than the other way round! Oh well, at least I know now!
