Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

No Pinyin?

Is there a way to have the cue only give the English translation without the Pinyin?

On the web you can hide pinyin on the settings menu of the study page. On Android this option can be found under the settings tab. On iOS it's found under the study settings. Just select "Hide Reading" and it'll turn off Pinyin.
