New Poll

JB   March 3rd, 2010 4:28p.m.

Is skewed! There are missing options =___=

murrayjames   March 3rd, 2010 5:12p.m.

A more interesting statistic would be the male/female divide....

dert   March 3rd, 2010 7:31p.m.

It is skewed. Mine would be "met the wife from Ohio in China."

nick   March 3rd, 2010 9:13p.m.

What's your favorite missing option? There's room for one more.

There's already a poll on the gender ratios in the poll archives.

戴莉絲婷   March 3rd, 2010 9:51p.m.

Um, how about just "no". I have a spouse, but he's not Chinese... ;)

Nicki   March 3rd, 2010 10:57p.m.

Yeah I'm with 戴莉絲婷.

nick   March 3rd, 2010 11:14p.m.

That doesn't fit with "No, don't want"?

sarac   March 3rd, 2010 11:25p.m.

I, too, am with 戴莉絲婷 and Nicki but I didn't answer the poll. The "no, don't want" choice contains a variety of situations, particularly awkward is the possible implication that such a s.o. is undesirable. You're limited in choices and the question is interesting but you don't get a 100% response rate on any poll, do you?

jww1066   March 3rd, 2010 11:44p.m.

I felt vaguely racist saying "No, do not want".

James, who is married to a non-Chinese person

nick   March 4th, 2010 12:27a.m.

Maybe it is a bad poll. I have added a fifth "No, not single" option, but I can't change the existing options much.

skritterjohan   March 4th, 2010 6:25a.m.

How about no she is Taiwanese.

Christian   March 4th, 2010 11:01a.m.

How about Chinese but not from China? :-)

JB   March 4th, 2010 11:41a.m.

Ah, I think the new option helps!

murrayjames   March 4th, 2010 4:16p.m.

It just goes to show: You can please some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can't please all of the people all of the time ;-)

gacorley   March 4th, 2010 10:31p.m.

Why is the poll up? Just curiosity, or is Skritter going to make an ad-supported version with sketchy Chinese matchmaking adds?

nick   March 5th, 2010 2:00a.m.

It was suggested after a discussion in this thread, and I was interested:

Looks like a surprisingly high number of Skritterers are in relationships with Chinese people (32% at the moment).
