Can't study my Custom List on iPhone

schiedi   March 20th, 2013 5:13a.m.

I made a new custom list, which i can study on my PC, but not on my iPhone.

On the iPhone I select "Advanced Study" -> "List" where I can see all my the lists (over 200, mostly Chinesepod and some older custom lists). But the new custom list won't show up.
I can see the list under "Lists" from the main screen, but can't study the words there either.

Pls help me, so I can study those custom words on the iPhone.

What's the name of the list? I'll check it out.

Note that only lists you've activated to study (showing up in My Lists) are available in the Advanced Study -> List menu, so ones you've created but not started studying have to be studied first.

Thanks for the reply. There are several lists which don't appear, for example "0 Chengyu" or "0 HSK 5 (new Hànyǔ Shuǐpíng Kǎoshì) (Remix).
As i have almost 300 Lists from Chinesepod in "my lists" i like to make/remix lists and name them with a 0 at the front, so they are easier to find on the "Advanced Study" List Menu on my iphone.

I tried to study those lists on my laptop, individually and with "study all my lists", but they won't show up on my "Advanced Study" List Menu on my iPhone.

Ah, I see, now. Looking at the code, we only grab 200 lists from the server for that Advanced Study menu since it doesn't page through multiple queries. We'll work on adding paging to that. In the meantime, you could study those lists on the web version, or do normal study on all your lists on the iOS app, but I don't have a workaround that would let you study those lists (unless you wanted to get rid of some of your old lists).

Nick, would it be possible for you to "sticky" specific lists for users in this situation? I don't know how the query is sorted, but I suppose you could suffix an underscore to the sort field of any list schiedi would like to have access to.

We could build another datastore index to offer the most recently accessed lists, but if we go that far, we might as well just build paging into the query.

I've left an email with my enquiring already but I am very desperate for help.

My second chinese exam is a week away and i am being tested on lessons 39 onwards from the new practical chinese reader, but my skritter is currently making me take lessons 6 onwards.

How do i get skritter to test me on the content i need to be tested for for my exam?

Please help me A.S.A.P i'm very worried for the exam.

learninglife   April 28th, 2013 2:35p.m.

@Nath. havent you seen the "study single list"-button? click that and then click the list you want to study.

nick   April 28th, 2013 3:12p.m.

Nath1027, you'll probably want to go to the NPCR list and edit the "skip sections" to skip 1-6 so that the system removes those words and can get you on 39+.

Another thing you might want to do if you want to focus on just part of NPCR for now but keep the first sections that you've already done is to remix NPCR, and in the remix, change the sections studied to just the ones you'll be tested on, then study that remixed list by itself.

I also have schiedi's problem with my custom lists.

Also, is the list Skritter Chinese 101 not available on Advanced Study? Because I'm trying to just review that list without any of the other lists, but it isn't an option on the Advanced Study.

You have to Study the list once to add it to My Lists before it will show up in the Advanced Study lists selection menu. Could that be it, lansing?
