You could Skritter right now if you jailbreak it (or if it is already jailbroken) and request the Dropbox URL from Nick. You would have to wait until the app passes Apple's approval process if your device is not jailbroken.

At this point we're close enough to the app launch that you probably don't want to risk jailbreaking it if it isn't already.

When will this launch happen ? Does Apple gives any clues ?

范博涵   May 28th, 2012 2:57p.m.

No idea, but they said the app launch was close enough that a jailbreak would not be worth it a month ago. And reportedly the app has been 'almost' ready for the past two years now. :-) If I were to hazard a guess I would say possibly late June but probably in July. Nick is going on an extended vacation in the third week of September and I would imagine that they would allow themselves at least two months to work out the most important kinks and things that they wanted for the app launch but did not have the time to implement.

They said the app was in the Apple review process, meaning it shouldn't take that long unless the Skritter team is planning on making even more changes to the app after it gets approved.

I read earlier that the app would 1) run only on iOS 5 and 2) thus only work for IPod Touch 4th generation and higher.

I have an itouch 3rd generation, and it runs iOS 5, so my question is, will the app run on a 3rd generation ipod touch?

Thanks!

scott   June 1st, 2012 3:42p.m.

I believe so, but we haven't tested on that device. The 4th gen iPod Touch strains a bit to run the app, but that's mostly because it's running a retina display without the same kind of horsepower and RAM the modern iPhone and iPad devices have.

Would the new iPhone app also work on an iPad? Are there any plans to develop an iPad app?

范博涵   June 3rd, 2012 5:29a.m.

Yes, it will work on the iPad. It will initially just be a blown up version of the iOS app with iPhone layout but they are planning to create an iPad layout after its release.
