Looks like the Great Firewall or something like it is preventing you from completely loading www.skritter.com because it is hosted on Google App Engine, which is periodically blocked. Try instead our mirror:

legacy.skritter.cn

This might also be caused by an internet filter, such as SafeEyes. If you have such a filter installed, try adding appspot.com to the list of allowed domains.

Is it possible to get a personalized text field for each word?

Dear Skritter creators:

Learning hanzi is sometimes made easier if the hanzi is related to a useful phrase. Since this phrase may come from a variety of sources, I was wondering how difficult in terms of programming and storage would be for you to allocate a small text field of about 50 characters for each hanzi, in order each user (if he or she desires) can write a custom phrase or comment.

Of course, this phrase will be hidden while testing and appear only at the end.

I am sorry for disturbing your creative mind with such a gross request.

It will take a little while to do right, but it's going to be sweet. We're working on some other stuff before we build new features like that, but it's not far from the top of the list.
